Blossoms have revealed that not even Noel Gallagher‘s daughter Anaïs knew about the Oasis reunion.
While appearing on Radio X ahead of their special Boxing Day show – Blossoms A to X on Radio X, which will see the band review the last year in alphabetical order, with tracks from Oasis, Linkin Park, and more – frontman Tom Ogden revealed that not even Anaïs, Noel Gallagher’s daughter, was aware that Oasis were reuniting.
Anaïs has previously hit the road with her father’s solo and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, joining his team as a photographer and recently serving as the director of his documentary series The Making Of Council Skies earlier this summer.
“I remember when the rumours were flying on the news articles online,” Ogden told his bandmates, with drummer Joe Donovan adding: “Me and you frantically texting each other, weren’t we?”
Ogden added: “Do you know what, Noel’s daughter Anaïs was staying at mine and Katie’s house when these new stories were breaking. And she actually didn’t have a clue. She was texting around people she knew to find out if it was true. She got no word.”
The ‘Gary’ singer then shared that Anaïs went to see Blossoms at their Wythenshawe show the following day. At the end of their show, the band aired a clip after their gig of a date and a time in Oasis’ iconic font, the same clip that was shown following Liam Gallager’s headlining Reading slot and the one Noel posted on his social media. The date and time were when Oasis would go on to announce their UK and Ireland reunion tour.
“When we were playing Wythenshawe the next day, and Anaïs was coming to watch us, she still didn’t know. I got a phone call a couple of hours before we went on stage, from our management, saying: ‘We need to show a video clip after your gig. I can’t tell you what it is. But it’s very exciting.’ We kind of put two and two together at that point. Obviously, the teaser went out and the rest is history. Oasis are back! Everywhere has sold out. Ticket mayhem! What a band, unreal,” Ogden said.
Donovan added: “It’s like, it’s definitely got to be the biggest moment of this year,” with Ogden saying: “We’ve never shied away from saying how much Oasis have inspired us over the years. People will say whatever they want about them, but there aren’t many bands that can come back and get that hype around the country the way they have… Around the world! We will be sure to be tapping Anaïs up. Thank you, mate!”

Earlier this summer, Anaïs hit out at the “ageism” and “misogyny” that swirled on social media following the announcement of Oasis’ reunion.
Though fans shared overwhelmingly positive comments as they reacted to the “biblical” news, some began sharing hypothetical concerns that they’d be beaten for tickets by young women just wanting to hear ‘Wonderwall’ live, which was amplified by the “unprecedented demand” for tickets.
Anaïs went on to respond to those sentiments in a TikTok comment, writing: “One thing I won’t stand for is the ageism and the misogyny around people getting tickets.”
She continued: “Sorry if a 19-year-old girl in a pink cowboy hat wants to be there, I will have my friendship bracelets ready.”
Elsewhere, early last year, Noel weighed in on the ongoing “nepo babies” debate, sharing that “it depends which way you look at it”.
“My daughter she follows me around with a camera and she films me and all that,” he told Berry. “She did a film about the making of the [upcoming High Flying Birds] album [‘Council Skies’],” he told Absolute Radio‘s Dave Berry.
He continued: “I guess you want to keep things close to home, but they have to be good at what they do. She’s good at what she does. She’s not just wondering around pointing a camera going, ‘Muhh there’s my dad’, she is great.”
Anaïs previously shared: “I would be tone deaf and irresponsible if I didn’t admit to how privileged my life has been and how much of a leg up my upbringing has given me.”
She also stated: “I think it’s tough for me because in no way am I here by my own right. I’m here with this platform because of my parents.”
“People say, ‘You only did that because of your dad’. That’s 100 per cent true, but I’ve only sustained where I am because I’m me. I’m a hard worker and I have my own mind.”
